Business ThinkTank No.46 - Tinitell

Innovation can derive from combination. Good design can derive from removal of things that's not necessary. This is the device that good innovation and good design meet. Tinitell.

Tinitell is a watch equipped with the phone function for kids. Tinitell will link to their parent's phone to connect them together seamlessly. Parents can track their kids because the device is composed of GPS equipment. Design attracts kids to wear it. It seems they are playing toys and willing to wear it as a cool gadget.

This is not new thing but it's a new way to present the concept to the individual target group. It's answered by Family. Success.

Business ThinkTank No.46 - Digital Touch Micro Donation

At London subway, you can donate your tiny amount of money left in the subway card by touching the device attached on the subway. I may call it 'Micro Donation'. The money of cents can be donated to the box and people might not think lots and perceive it's very small things to give that.

If this concept applies to Thailand, I'll make a device that can deduct the last digit of Rabbit cards and put that amount to the charitable association. Or we join with companies that have their own deposit cards like Starbucks, mPay, TrueMoney.

Micro donation is the area we should consider. Think small doesn't mean Small Money :)

Business ThinkTank No.45 - Solar Cell Phone Booth

The public telephone booth is now obsolete because of the advent of mobile phones. In London, they turn unused telephone booth into solar cell booths to be a beacon for charging devices.

We have look for the unused inventory and try to exploit them somehow. Definitely, in Thailand we have many phone booths standing without utilizing them lots like previously. In addition, we also have taxi stations built but not used. If we can turn these assets into something that can be benefits to people even though it's not free, if really useful they are willing to pay for it!

Remember, remember. No asset values 0!

Business ThinkTank No.44- Sell things in Taxi

The number of taxi prevails in Bangkok and you can ride on anywhere you are. In taxi, you may accidentally find that some cabs offer you free candies or newspaper. What if it turns into business or additional services rather than just taking you to destination.

Let's imagine. You get on a taxi, spend a boring time in there. Activities you seem to have are sleeping, or sitting and watching outside. But if there are things you can do more inside like buy goods or read books, trips and those offerings can charge you some amount of money. That's possible and sounds interesting?

People love shopping, and well when they're retained in the small space and nothing to do. If we provide more activities they can do. That must be great and profitable! See?

Business ThinkTank No.42- iQueue

I'm very irritated to restaurants where their customers have to do long queues for many minutes. While waiting, if good management, there will be someone who are responsible to jot down your queue and announce when your turn is there. The time gap is going waste if restaurants don't offer any value, like order food beforehand. And here is our opportunity to solve it.

For popular food restaurants, iQueue app is the right mate to place into their work process. The app can provide many benefits to waiting customers to not get bored and leave before their turn by allowing them to play games or do some activities relating to restaurants' food or brands. Fairer, the longer they wait, the more they gain points and use points to exchange valued-items when reach some amount designated.

Great idea? Need someone initiate and act. Please.

Business ThinkTank No.41- Time-Related Advertisement

Nowadays, Ad agenaycy has many methods to pl with audience. The social marketing/ viral communication is pervasive among all ages. While things mentioned exist digitally, another physical view is also rather more interesting when we borrow the power of time.

Time can deal with Sun and Moon. Both yield lightness and darkness as well as limitation in terms of day and night span. During days, we're hit by sunshine and sky. On another flip, we face moonlight and nightfall. If we consider time's characteristics clearly and have insights on it, we're capable to exhibit advertising media sounding distinctive.

Like in Korea, a company employes sunlight to form a QR code shadow. The crafted object must be touched the light with the right time and angle so as to produce particular shadow according the shape of the object. When the time comes, e.g. about 14.00 PM when the sun is diagonally on heads of us, the QR code appears perfectly. People will scan the code to get discount coupons and keep them into their mobile phones or using immediately.

In Chicago, the ad billboard, among sun dominance, doesn't display anytime. But when the sky goes dark, the picture is attractively revealed to the hangouts within that art frame.

There are many applications to deal with time-engaging communications however it still depends on how well you pick up contexts to express messages.

Business ThinkTank No.40- Books and Toys

When you were a child and read the fantasy book, had you ever imagined that magical objects or fairy-tale character could be touchable. GoldieBlox is the initiator upon this thought.

The company provides a book that instructs girls many ways in constructing toys. This toy is designed to promote favor in engineering to girls. Together with a book, toy can encourage girls to play it with fun and passion to pursue engineering-education path. Of course, the book is not a normal one. It's written as a story telling about a girl who loves invent things. In this way, girls can enjoy reading and playing as well as ingraining their engineering-oriented mindset.

So, I believe we can copy and develop this excellent concept from this case to other areas. We may offer painting kit to let children draw high-profiled artist paintings in correspondence of storytelling in the book. To wrap it shortly, build passion, let it drive action. ;)

Business ThinkTank No.39- Bundle Sells

Selling each may cost you more than offering in bundles. And people sometimes don't want to waste time to buy a single item in a particular purpose.

I found the medicare website sets the product for cancer patients who face difficulty to keep their life in safe by using the aiding equipment. New patients usually have no awful experience what they are coping with, thereby lacking of necessary things to ail pains occurred.

The point of this business is to go for niche markets and provide groups of things to customers who hardly use them but become very essential when bad situation comes or special events approach.

Sets could be: medical box, adventurous tools, survival equipment, flood-fighter package, etc.

Yet not easy, you have to study lots to collect right items and encapsulate them into one chuck.
